Vince has been building musical instruments off and on since the 70's. He started working for the Goshen Art School
in Morgantown West Virginia in 1975 building African Thumb Pianos and other latin and caribbean percussion instruments
such as marimba's, and steel drums. He also added graphics to instruments using paints and woodburning techniques.

In 1980 he enrolled in the instrument building class at the Augusta Heritage Workshops in Elkins West Virgina. In five
weeks the class members each constructed a hammered dulcimer and a 5-string banjo under the instruction of Paul Riesler.

In the mid 80's he took the instrument repair class at Augusta taught by Wayne Henderson
which covered most aspects of acoustic instrument repair from resetting necks to fixing cracks.

In 1990 Vince worked for Michael "Moses" Scrivner in Nashville Tn. repairing instruments for clients such as John Prine,
Charlie Daniels, Fred Kohler, and numerous Nashville musicians. Moses at the time was buiding mountain dulcimers with
David Schanufer, a world renowned dulcimer player. In 1991 Moses tragically passed away. He had been building museum
quality instruments and had a number of orders that needed filling. While Moses was alive he had taught Vince how to
build dulcimers and so Vince finished the orders for him since all the wood and hardware were in Michael's shop.
Vince kept the shop going till 1998 repairing various instruments and building acoustic and solid body electric dulcimers.
